Colin Wake takes charge of the Chester-le-Street team at home to Horden tonight following the resignation of Grant Crookes. Wake is very familiar with the club following a long playing career, and was added to the coaching staff earlier in the year.

Chester are hoping that Glenn Reay, Sam Renwick and Luke Gilhespy can all return, while they include new signings defender Scott Wilson and winger Stephen Freyer.

Horden are without five players, including midfielder Stu Brightwell.

Hebburn manager Paul Bennett wants a much better performance when they go to Whitehaven in their FA Cup preliminary round replay .

Hebburn led 2-1 against ten man Whitehaven last Saturday, but fell away and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Manager Paul Bennett said: “The players owe the club a performance.” However, top scorer Liam McBryde is unavailable, while others are frantically trying to arrange time off work.

In the other replay tonight, South Shields are at Newcastle Benfield.

In the STL first division, Billingham Town manager Carl Jarrett is hoping for a big improvement at home to Sunderland RCA, after they lost 6-0 at Bedlington last Saturday, and he is sure to make changes after his side conceded five goals in the second half.

The RCA are hoping to add at least two new signings before the game, one of them being Bryan Stewart from Spennymoor.

Marske United are at home to Dunston, and welcome back midfielder Anthony Ormerod and striker Craig Skelton. Dunston could field the team that beat Durham City 4-0 in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Guisborough make the journey northwards to Ashington without three players, Nathan Steel, Chris I’Anson and Mark Casey, but midfielder Luke Bythway returns.

In the second division, leaders Darlington RA, who lost at home to Easington on Saturday, are at Gillford Park, and welcome back striker Fred Huscroft, but four are unavailable.

Unbeaten Whickham are at home to Team Northumbria, and will be missing five players because of injury. Whickham could go top if they win and the RA drop points at Gillford Park.

Washington, who are in fifth place, are at Thornaby, and are boosted by the returns of four players, Nicky Evans, Mark Patterson, Dan Robinson and Alan Oliver.

Thornaby, who won at Brandon on Saturday, welcome back keeper Paddy Pisani and striker Paul Vickers.

Ryton and Crawcrook, who have strengthened their team with former first division players recently, are at home to Alnwick.

Third bottom Seaham Red star are looking for their second win of the season against Brandon.
