FACEBY joiner Guy Kendrew and the all-new AM-sponsored Ossa proved to be an unbeatable partnership on Sunday at the Middlesbrough DMC Lazenby trial on Eston Hills.

Kendrew fired the Ossa round for the loss of just seven marks to beat Marton’s David Pye by nine marks, with Russ Rooksby, from Yarm, in third place.

Swainby’s Richard Simpson finished second in clubman A, just failing to match the consistency of the experienced Alan Carr. Middlesbrough’s Barry Chapman finished third.

RICHARD Sadler slammed home his second clean sheet rider in ten days when he won the Stocksbridge trial at Greenmoor on Sunday.

That victory puts the West Witton apprentice joiner in the driving seat in Yorkshire Centre and West Yorkshire trials championship standings.

PICKERING riders were in action at Yatt’s Farm where the York-based club staged their January trial.

Thirty-three adults were in action at the Newton venue to ride the six-lap 11-section.

Paul Simpson won the adult class from Mike Kendra who found a rabbit hole in the middle of the sixth section. Paul Mugridge ruled the twin shocks from Denis Gabbetis, with Phil Ridley rounding off the class after veteran Frank Hildrick retired after two sections.

Zac Collinson took off into the distance finishing 40 marks clear of Thomas Constantine and Harrison Watkins.

Pickering are in action again on March 20 at Crook Farm, Wrelton, at 11am.

NORTH Durham Motor Club was back to Deanacres Park, near Chester-le-Street on Sunday for their first trial of the year, and decent weather greeted the 75 entrants at the wooded course.

On a rare appearance, Crook’s Michael Phillipson showed he is still a class act, as he went round the four laps of ten sections on the expert route without loss, but he was closely followed by Michael Lee, having an excellent ride on two.

The rest of the riders were having problems, with a couple of sections in particular proving difficult. Harry Norman’s section six featured a steep climb.

Phil Clark took the clubman course win on six, followed by Dave Humble on nine and Ian Cheetham on 16. Half of Clark’s marks went on the fourth, where the large tree root followed by a tight left into the stream, took marks off everyone.

Andrew Black got back to winning ways on the Easy course, with a good win over Colin Lee. After dropping a couple on the first section, ironically one of the easiest, Black did particularly well on the last section, with just the one dab in the muddy slot, which had troubled the majority of Clubman and Expert Course riders.
