NORTON Ladies first team rounded off a successful season in the league last weekend by beating Hartlepool Caledonians and Billingham 4-0 with two goals from Ella Scaife and one each from Chloe Godfrey and Scarlet Carton to lift the Durham County Cup.

Goalkeeper Bea Jones was voted the "girl of the game" after making some great saves to keep yet another clean sheet.

The ladies added the cup to their league success after topping Yorkshire and North East (YNE) division three Tees, losing only once while scoring an impressive 151 goals, with only five conceded.

The ladies are joined by Norton men's second team, who came top of the YNE division three Tees league on goal difference following a close-run contest with Marton Furness men's thirds. Both teams finished the season on 58 points with Norton's 119 goals against 25 conceded taking them to top spot.

Both Norton sides are promoted and will now play in their respective YNE division two North East leagues next season.
