Richmond Motor Club. Andrew Allison Memorial Trial, Holgate, Sunday.
THE Richmond club struck lucky on Sunday when it staged the annual Andrew Allison Memorial Trial.
The entry was just over 100, and those competitors and the 16 section observers actually enjoyed sunshine.
Clerk of course duo Rob Waite and Matt Maynard plotted the route, taking in Telfit, Holgate, Braithwaite’s Gill and Kexwith. Thanks to Mr Leatham at Telfit Farm, Mr Brown and the important Helwith Tea Rooms plus Richard and Raymond Ridley out on the moors.
The new Telfit Quarry was included, and the two Coverdale Class C boys Josh Dent and Koby Smith put on a good show. Josh rode the full course and Koby managed a lap.

At the sharp end, the class winners were Richard Sadler on three, six upon Guy Kendrew, while Arkengarthdale Vertigo rider Jack Stones took the inter class. Ryan Brown was the novice winner and took the other 23 contenders to the cleaners by eight marks.
Callum Fowler just missed a class win last week but he won class A youth by a mile on Sunday. There were no shocks in clubman A where Phillip Alderson ruled from Liam Smith and Stuart Blythe, who splashed out on a Vertigo. Neil Gaunt and Adrian Harrison took clubman B, while Charlie Astwood took youth class B by miles.
