THE finals of the Dales Ladies Doubles Tennis League were played at Ripon Tennis Centre last Saturday.
In division one, West Tanfield Tennis Club played Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre and the match was won by West Tanfield – three rubbers to one.
Ann Hatch and Kath Halliday (West Tanfield) beat Clare Bevan and Anna Frearson (Harrogate Spa) 6-3, 6-4 and halved with Chantal Wilkinson and Marie Scrimger (Harrogate Spa) 3-6, 7-5. Lesley Jones and Judith Thompson (West Tanfield) beat Clare and Anna 6-0, 6-1 and halved with Chantal and Marie 4-6, 6-3.
In division two, Bedale Tennis Club played Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre and the match was won by Harrogate Spa by four rubbers to nil.

Ruth Whaling and Anthea Davies (Harrogate Spa) beat Val Dickinson and Hilary Hepworth (Bedale) 6-1, 6-3 and beat Helen Abbotson and Sarah Liddle (Bedale) 6-1, 6-0. Jane Walker and Margaret Jackson (Harrogate Spa) beat Val and Hilary 6-3, 6-2 and beat Helen and Sarah 6-3, 6-3.
