GUISBOROUGH TOWN’S new managerial duo of Steve Bell and Paul Crager have signed a quartet of players from their former club Billingham Synthonia.

The four players are Scott Howes, David Hillerby, former Guisborough forward Ben Jackson and ex-Guisborough goalkeeper James Dawson.

Two former Guisborough players – defender Josh Rowbotham and winger Mason McNeill – made the reverse move, re-joining former manager Gary Forster, who has been appointed boss at Billingham Synthonia.

Crager

Scott Howes is a left back whose previous clubs are Newton Aycliffe, Thornaby and Synners. Despite his relatively young age, Scott brings some good Northern League experience with him. He is a tenacious left back who likes to get forward and create chances. “He is a player me and Ste trust greatly and we are very happy he has agreed to join us at Guisborough Town,” said Crager.

Ben Jackson:

Wide forward Ben Jackson is no stranger to Guisborough fans, having spent time with the club previously. Crager said: “We are delighted to see ‘Jacko’ back in a Guisborough shirt. He’s a player we feel has improved immensely under our management over the past couple of years. He brings good creativity and always poses a goal threat – we are sure he will become a favourite of the Guisborough fans once again."

James Dawson:

Goalkeeper James Dawson re-joins Guisborough for his second spell at the KGV. Crager said: “James is a fantastic shot stopper and communicates well on the field. He has good Northern League experience and we are delighted he has agreed to join us at Guisborough Town. He will be a leader both on and off the field.”

David Hillerby:

Dave Hillerby, a – midfielder/right back, is another good player with plenty of Northern League experience and who can play in a number of positions. "We are delighted to welcome Dave to the club," said Crager. He is a good technical player and will be a leader on and off the pitch. He will bring added competition to the squad.”
