Northallerton RUFC have now started pre season fitness training for both the ladies' and the men’s teams.

It is purely fitness only with the ladies being guided by the ever-helpful Matty Linthwaite and the men being tutored and encouraged by staff from Evolve NCA.

There is currently no use of showers or changing rooms so players are are asked to come ready to train, with a towel, water bottle and change of top for after. There will be no use of shared equipment such as rugby balls, pads, or weights until there is a change in the guidelines.

The ladies train every Wednesday at 7pm at Brompton Lodge, while the men are training at the same venue on a Thursday at 7pm. However that may be increased to Tuesday and Thursday once a final date for the commencement of the new season is announced.

All training sessions are carried out in groups of five or six and in accordance with current government guidelines, including the logging in of all attendees, temperature checks, social distancing of more than one metre, and sanitisation of hands and used training areas.

Anyone wishing to join or attend just for fun can contact either Steph Welford or Emma Linthwaite for the ladies, and Iain Swall for the men either directly or via Northallerton Rugby Club’s Facebook page.
