IT was another blockbuster week for Richmond and Zetland Harriers with half marathons, 10kms, cross countries and even a few throws competitions.

Dan Upton continued his great form from before Christmas with a competition at the Swindon Winter throws competition. Dan won the shot (12:57), the discus (37:04) and the weight throw (10:54).

Rob Dashwood was out at the Gargrave half marathon and had an excellent run and finished in a great time (01:39:05). Steve Sadler was also out and about at the Carlisle 10km and with a great run finishing in 32nd and the 3rd V50 (39:04).

It was also the area schools cross country championships at Tadcaster with places to represent North Yorkshire at the English schools championships up for grabs.

Phoebe Haw had a good run in the year seven girls race finishing in 20th. Shannon Robinson had another excellent run finishing in 5th in the U13 girls and duly qualifying for the team.

Josh Hammett also had a fantastic result finishing as the top junior boy and also leading home the pack was Charlie Stephenson in the senior boys’ race.

It was also the latest round of the North Yorkshire and South Durham cross country league held at Ormesby Hall and a strong squad was assembled for the event.

Archie Law was first out on the course in the U11 boys race and was 6th overall, Matilda Ellis was also in good form in 5th in the U11 girls race.

Ollie Middleton had another good run in the U13 boys finishing in 6th place with Riley Deighton-Harrison in 14th position. Olivia Jackson-Bowers was 8th in the U13 girls.

In the U15 boys race Tom O’Mahoney was 1st and Charlie Stephenson had a comfortable victory in the U17 men’s race.

Jo Adams continues to dominate the senior ladies with another win, Nicola Stephenson was 9th overall and the 1st V45, Rebecca Smith was 18th, Stephanie Stephenson was 26th and the 3rd V45, Rachel Smith was 37th and the 2nd U20, Elly Robertson was 51st, Pauline Whittaker in 58th, Elaine Watters in 61st, Nicki Buckett in 71st and Michelle Sprent-Broadwith in 85th.

These set of results gave the ladies squad 3rd overall. In the senior men’s race Rob Scott was 3rd, Jake Stephenson was 4th and the 1st U20, Carl Jones was 5th and the 1st V45, Scott Wardman was 11th, Mark Forrest was 21st and the 2nd V50, Ken Harker was 27th and the 2nd V45, Leon Reeve was 35th, Paul Simpson was 77th, Anthony Jefford was 88th and Simon Withers was 101st. These resulted in the men’s squad taking the team win.

At Catterick parkrun Rob Scott was the 1st finisher (18:03), Steve Sadler was 16th (20:22), Garry Malton was 25th (21:04), Pete Richardson was 50th (23:45), Ian Hepworth was 84th (26:25) and Elly Robertson was the 30 minute pacer (30:03).

Alastair Wilkin was 11th at Northallerton parkrun (22:58). Rob Lickley was 15th (22:19) at Millfield parkrun, Easingwold. Lucy Verrill was 32nd and the 1st lady at Albert park parkrun (22:35).

At Northallerton junior parkrun James Wilkin was the 1st finisher (09:03), Rebecca Wilkin was 3rd and the 2nd girl (09:45), James Holdsworth was 4th and the 2nd boy and Kiki Fletcher was 5th and the 3rd girl (10:14).
