IT has been a busy period for Allerton Juniors with many races and training runs taking place over the summer months.

Most recently a strong squad of athletes took part in the Middlesbrough 3K Fun Run, with some fantastic times achieved in great weather and a fun atmosphere.

First home for AJAC and seventh overall was Marley Plant in 10:07, next up was Angus Corcoran in 11:15, Caleb Stanley finished in 11:36, Erin Derry finished third girl overall in 11:46, Grace Derry came next for AJAC in 11:57, Albie Mack was hot on her heels in 11:58, Doug Plant finished in 12:01, Oscar Wileman finished in 12:03 followed by Lucy Boot in 12:04, Daniel Dale came home in 12:26, Henry Mack finished in 12:29 and Mhairi Corcoran finished off for AJAC in 12:42.

On the same day in York at the York Track League event, Henry Kirkbride finished fourth in U11M long jump with 3.34m. He also finished second overall in the U11M 75m in 11.47s and he set a new PB in the U11M 150m, finishing second overall in 22.83s.

At the same event, Kitty Illingsworth finished tenth overall in the U11F 75m in a time of 12.00s, and also finishing tenth in the U11F long jump with a leap of 3.00m.

Again on the same day, Adam Derry, Poppy Stokes, Holden Outhwaite, Fred Hunt, Olly Darcy, Fin Darcy and Sam Degazon all took part in an inter-region youth development competition representing the North-East against Yorkshire.

It was a fantastic competition and the North-East came away as winners on the day, a big well done to them and the members of Allerton.

Finally, on Thursday, August 29 an Allerton team took part in the NYMAC Tom Wall one mile relay at Stewart Park in Middlesbrough.

The team of Angus Corcoran, Oliver Mack, Albie Mack and Henry Mack came 35th overall out of 84 teams in a combined time of 26:10, a fantastic result and great preparation for the upcoming Junior Great North and Tees runs this weekend.
