On Saturday, October 20, 22 members and friends of Bedale Tennis Club gathered at The New Inn, Thrintoft to celebrate the end of the 2018 season.
Althea Draper, the chairman, on summing up the past season could not help but be satisfied. Bedale runs three mixed teams in the Harrogate League. The Division 2 team held their own, the Division 4 team reached promotion and the Division 6 team enjoyed some very close matches and gave an opportunity to many members to enjoy competitive tennis.
Two ladies teams were entered into the Dales League which Bedale runs and both teams reached the finals. She thanked all the captains for their hard work.
Bedale is hoping to resurface their three courts next year and quotes were coming in. Members will find out more at the AGM in December.
Heather Walker, a long time life member presented the trophies to the winners.
