OVER the past few weeks, members have been taking part in a variety of events from Parkruns to Cross Country with some road races thrown in for good measure.

On Sunday 14th October At the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Junior 2.5km race in what can only be described as horrendous weather conditions Marley Plant had a spectacular run to grab a podium place finishing 3rd in the 12-16 age group. In the boys 9-11 category 3 AJAC athletes finished in the top 10, with Oscar Wileman claiming 4th place, Caleb Stanley grabbing 5th place and Doug Plant finishing 7th.

In the 9-11 Girls race only 2 seconds separated the top 3 runners with Annabelle Coxon putting in a hard fought performance to grab 2nd place and club-mate Lucy Boot claiming 3rd place.

Over at the NYSD cross country league took park in Acklam, in the under 11 boys race Archie Cann was the first AJAC athlete to finish, finishing 4th with clubmate Josh Kitching and Ed Barnbrook following close behind.

In the under 11 girls race Megan Burnham was the sole representative from the club and put in a hard-fought performance in the difficult conditions.

In the boys under 13 race Alex Winsper tackled the course with sheer determination narrowly missing out on a top 20 finish.

Also on the 14th Oct 3 Athletes took part in the Northallerton Junior Parkrun. Harry Bell was first to finish with clubmate Dylan Welburn finishing 2nd with a new course personal best to show for his efforts. Oliver Blewitt finished in 5th place overall (2nd in the JM10 category) narrowly missing out on a new PB.

Over at Hemlington Junior Parkrun Ava Bourne on her first outing for the club put in a splendid performance to finish 3rd in the JW10 category.

On Saturday 20th October 6 athletes took part in the Northern XC relays in Sheffield. In the u/11 Boys race Henry Kirkbride, Doug Plant and Archie Cann put in a spirited combined effort to guarantee a top 20 finish (19th overall). In the u/13 Boys race Cian Winter, Oscar Wileman and Marley Plant all put in consistent performances to finish 16th on the day.

On Sunday 21st October Joshua Kitching took on the 2k course of Hemlington Junior Parkrun narrowly missing out on a course PB to finish 2nd overall and 1st in the JM10 category.

Over at Northallerton Junior Parkrun Oliver Blewitt bagged a new PB with a splendid performance to finish 2ndoverall.

Also on the 21st Oct a team of athletes took part in the North Yorkshire Sportshall Trials in Richmond. In the u/11 group Sophie Hilton, Millie Gilby and Eliash Willis put in consistent performances across the 10 events.

The u/13 group of Holly Hilton, Lily Hutchinson-Burke, Evie Smith, Ruby Wilbor, Erin Corcoran, Ellie Fielding and Seth Burnside all put in dominant performances on the day.

And then to round off a spectacular 2 weeks of running 9 athletes headed to the coast for the Scarborough coast run. In the 1.5km race AJAC dominated from the start with Henry Kirkbride finishing as the outright winner followed closely by Lucy Boot in 2nd, Annabelle Coxon in 3rd and Megan Edwards 4th.

In the 2.5km race Oscar Wileman was the first AJAC athlete to cross the line narrowly edging out clubmate Harry Bell, he was closely followed by Caleb Stanley, Dylan Welburn and Alex Winsper.
