THE club had a busy but successful weekend. On Saturday, Campbell Darcy and Cian Winter represented North Yorkshire at the Northern Schools Inter-County Cross Country Championship at Barnard Castle. Both boys put in determined performances to help the North Yorkshire boys’ team win the overall Team race.

On Sunday 04th February 11 Athletes braved the cold weather and attended Parkruns around the region.

At Hemlington Lake Junior Parkrun 4 new Personal Best Times were obtained and Holden Outhwaite put in a commanding performance to claim 1st place. He was followed by Marley Plant in 2nd place (New PB), Caleb Stanley 5th (New PB), Henry Kirkbride 7th (New PB), Joshua Kitching 9th (New PB), Dylan Welburn 13th, Edward Barnbrook 15th, Paddy Harrison 17th , Aiden Leahy 18th and India Laverick 28th.

At Redcar Junior Parkrun Annabelle Coxon put in a strong performance to finish comfortably as the 1st girl (3rd overall).

Head Coach Glen Hilton took part in the North East Masters Cross Country Championships in Darlington. Glen claimed the Bronze medal in the V40-44 Category.

At the Northern Indoor Athletics Championships Evie Smith and Ruby Wilbor took to the track and showed maturity beyond their years against a very competitive field. In the field events Fin Darcy became the first AJAC athlete to win a medal at the Northern Championships, he claimed Bronze in the U/15 Boys High Jump and then went on to win Silver in the U/15 Boys Shot Putt.
