THE Stuart Pailor Memorial Race took place at the weekend, at Hart, near Hartlepool. The multi-terrain race had plenty of mud on the off road sections, but overhead conditions were good, and Lorriane Hiles, ever in excellent form, finished 55th out of 265 in 42.36, picking up the prize for 4th lady, and another for 1st F50. Alan Harman was 149th in 52.20 and Ian Codling 251st in 71.59, winning an age group prize.

There were 11 members among the 392 runners at the Fountains Abbey Park Run, Andy Butcher coming 56th in 23.27, Alan Pollock 82nd in 24.55, Martin Cummins 95th in 25.40, closely followed by Ian Crane, 96th in 25.42, Paul Adams 164th in 28.50, Alison Butcher 173rd in 29.01, Nigel Morgan 186th in 29.37, Linda Bamforth 243rd in 31.28, Gillian Crane 277th in 32.45, Steve Isaac 297th in 34.03 and Jane Cummins 324th in 35.13.

At Northallerton, Ken Wood came 3rd out of 80 in 21.12 and Phillip Craig 78th in 48.39.

Ken Evitt and granddaughter, Leah were among the 339 at Darlington South Park, Ken coming 255th in 33.19 with Leah just ahead.

The was a superb turnout of 329 at the annual Captain Cooks Fell race on New Years Day, where mud was once again a feature! Josh Fothergill really tested himself and was first club finisher, 29th and 2nd MJ in 37.20, with Tom Levi 60th in 39.55, evergreen Stephan Tomaszewski 68th in 40.27, Ken Wood 87th in 41.28, even more evergreen Rob Burn 124th, and 2nd M60, in 43.45, ever improving Jody Sygrove 135th in 44.31, Andy Butcher 167th in 47.23, David Read 170th in 47.42, Hilary Coventry 182nd in 48.49, Alan Simpson 190th in 49.17, Carol Morrison 216th in 51.13, Stewart Mechie - good to see him back after his sojourn in the Far East

- 222nd in 51.30, Duncan Fothergill 260th in 54.59, Christine Burn 317th in 69.23 and Cath Lumb 318th in 69.27.
