The Club's AGM last week saw a change of leadership with Duncan Fothergill being elected Club Chairman after Rob Burn came to the end of his stint in the post. He has served the club in the role for about 7 years and thanks and a presentation were made to him for his loyal and enthusiastic service. Martyn Coy was elected Men's Captain and Olivia Mulligan Ladies' Captain. Three new members were elected to the committee.

Another busy weekend saw four Harriers among the 3177 runners at the Yorkshire 10 mile race at York, with Phillip Craig, running superbly just now, 887th in 1.26.50, Alan Harman 901st in 1.27.02, Hannah Bates 1794th in 1.36.42 and Malcolm Aitken 1997th in 1.39.29.

7 members were among the 48 runners at the recent difficult Lockton Limping Fell race, the latest club championship race. Cameron Choules was 11th in 62.48, the revitalised Rob Burn 19th, and once again 1st M60, in 67.08, Hilary Coventry 31st, and 1st F50, in 77.48, Sonja van der Westhuisen 35th and 2nd F50 in 80.41, with Helen Ashworth 39th and 3rd F50, sweeping the board for the F50 age group and those three coming away with 2nd Team Prize. Fran jaffery was 43rd in 85.51 and Alan Wikeley 48th in 110.46.

Ian Crane was racing at the Oulton Park racing circuit in Cheshire at the weekend, not in any form of motorised race but in the Xtra Mile Duathlon, consisting of 2.7 mile run, 13.5 mile cycle, and finishing with a 2.7 mile run, all round the race track. His total time, including transitions, was 1.25.30, a full 11 minutes quicker than at the event last year, and he came 295th out of 370 competitors. Another excellent performance.
