Richmond Motor Club G.E. Brown Trophy Trial, Low Row, Sunday

JONATHAN RICHARDSON switched camps to Gas Gas two weeks ago and rode and won the G.E. Brown Trophy Trial at Low Row on Sunday. The Yorkshire Centre Championship trial attracted all the big names in trialling in the county. Harden landlord Martin Crosswaite demonstrated just why he was a top trialler twenty years ago by taking third place just a single penalty behind Richard Sadler. The youth class went to Huddersfield ‘s Will Tolson, just, from Bradford boy Charlie Smith. Mirfield’s Andrew Jackson headed Ben Ludgate and Ilkley decorator Graham Tales in the Clubman A class. Knaresborugh builders merchant Neil Gaunt won Clubman B from Paul Sadler and West Leeds club members Howard Gulley and Mark Chippendale.

Darlington & D.M.C. Cancer Research Charity Trial, Brokes, Sunday

MARK WILLIS topped the hard course results at the Darlington club’s Cancer Research charity trial at Brokes on Sunday with a fine ride on his Montesa to get round the trick sixteen sections on just twenty penalties. Class A rider Ryan Brown opted for the hard route for his return to serious trialling after his hairline arm fracturing Bracken Rocks crash a month ago. Clerk of Course Colin Ayres and Jason Brown had everything well planned with three sections in the wood which certainly got the penalties flowing. The preceding section was the hill climb which all the forty six competitors attacked with gusto and where only Josh Thwaite and Ryan Brown failed once. The finale was a presentation of fine awards. And of course the Cancer Research Charity were the overall winners on the day. The Darlington & District Motor Club thank all who supported the trial, the individuals who donated awards.

Eboracum M.C.C. Trial, Low Thorgill, Rosedale, Saturday

EBORACUM MC brought their Club series of six trials over the summer to a successful end on a very wet Saturday at Low Thorgill Farm, Rosedale, Olly Kendra hanging onto his 2016 Expert crown once again and Rob McNeil grabbed the Clubman A after a consistent season, from last year’s champion Matt Sharp.

Thirsk M.C. Trial, Kilburn Grange, Sunday

A SLIPPERY trial for Thirsk club’s trial at Kilburn Grange Farm on Sunday John Banks grabbed the win by a wide margin from Jonathan Frost, with Jordan Allinson. A four lap, ten section course around the disused quarries. Scarborough`s Alan Carr revels in these sort of trials and he won Clubman A but Dave Teasdale and Phil Clough put him under some pressure with solid rides.
