STAFF from North Yorkshire horseracing yards excelled in a race designed to shine the spotlight on the teams behind successful stables.
The Betfair Clock Tower Cup in Doncaster is a charity race solely for stable staff, with riders on horses who are in training with their employer.
Mark Simms, who works for Karl Burke in Middleham, won first place on Baron Run, while second place went to Jessie O’Kane who rode Buccaneers Vault for Malton trainer Paul Midgley.
Now in its third year, the race celebrates the hard work and dedication of stable staff, while giving them an opportunity to experience the excitement of riding on the track, often for the first time.
