MANY recent letters highlight the infighting between politicians over the Brexit negotiations, which to my mind has now become a shambles.

Of course, much of this could and should have been avoided if David Cameron had had the guts to stick with his Remain opinion and told his Tory colleagues to support him or quit the party and call an election based on his values.

Those of us who voted Leave did so for diverse reasons. Like myself, many of my friends constantly re-evaluate their stance, just as any sensible person would over any issue affecting their life and family’s future. However, politicians from all sides have shown themselves to be both inept and self-serving.

Perhaps at the next election candidates could stand in just one of two parties, either “the haven’t got a clue party” or “the couldn’t give a **** party” which would really reflect the way our so-called leaders are behaving at this very important time in relationships with Europe and the rest of the world.
