Sir, – Further to last week’s letter submitted by June and Martin Sunderland, I can confirm that the place to which they refer to as being “Somewhere west of Reeth” has not been totally lost.

There is now evidence to suggest that it has indeed been found, not it should be noted by those responsible for producing the Dales National Park official guide, nor by the great Hercule Poirot himself but rather by someone who inadvertently ejected a polystyrene kebab container from their car window when passing through.

I say inadvertently because it is unlikely that a responsible, level-headed member of society would partake in such a lamebrained activity in this, an area of outstanding beauty, or any other area for that matter.

So, Low Row it would appear is not lost and maybe the person responsible for the dispatching of the said container could now indulge themselves in a spate of public-spirited exercises.

Firstly, by letting the National Parks know Low Row is in fact alive, well and open for business, and secondly by making it known where exactly it is one can purchase a kebab which is still palatable by the time one has made the effort to drive three miles west of Reeth.

ANDY BOTTOMLEY Low Row, Reeth.
