Sir, – Stockton Borough Council's latest plan to virtually eliminate on street parking in Yarm will leave the Church and Fellowship Hall cut off for any parking capacity, the disabled unable to get support services, and shop keepers with no parking for their staff - a great plan.
Whatever happened to the new parking the council was going to provide to alleviate the issue?
Yarm pavements and streets are a dangerous disgrace, yet millions are poured into Stockton High Street, while Yarm footpaths continue to be serious tripping hazards and the access streets to the High Street are in similar dangerous condition.
West Street is a pothole paradise and has never fully been resurfaced. Where do our councillors stand in serving their electorate on this long-standing issue?
There is no sign of any action on the Yarm bypass which has been on the drawing board for 30 years.
All we get are more houses to make an already hopelessly bad situation worse, while incredibly Bedale is to get a bypass. Where do our politicians get their 'facts'?
RW SUNLEY, West Street, Yarm.
