Sir, – On behalf of Hillside Scout Group at Knayton may I use your letters column to express sincere thanks and praise to the young members and Leaders of Hillside Scout Troop for their amazing Pop-up Café held at Borrowby Village Hall last Saturday.

They raised a massive £564 for Children in Need's Ebola Research Fund and will be making a formal presentation to the Northallerton branch of Children in Need at their next meeting.

Eddie and Di Fearnside led activities in the kitchen and encouraged the young people to excel at all the necessary roles from waiting on to washing up, as well as preparing the food, which was of an extremely high quality.

The event was very well supported by residents of Knayton and Borrowby as well as from other villages in the Scout Group's catchment area and I would like to thank them all for their support and also the Darlington and Stockton Times for their help in publicising the event.

IRIS DE WET

Group Scout Leader, Hillside Scout Group.
