Sir, – An exhibition of Northallerton clocks in aid of the Friarage Hospital MRI Scanner Appeal is to be held at Tennants auction centre, Leyburn, starting later this month. It has been widely publicised in posters and flyers distributed throughout North Yorkshire, in articles published in newspapers and periodicals, in letters sent to numerous organisations in and around Northallerton and Leyburn and on the exhibition website (www.northallertonclocks.info).

Unfortunately the starting date for the exhibition has now changed: whereas potential visitors were advised the exhibition would open on Saturday, September 27 it will now run from Monday, September 29 to Wednesday, October 22 (except Sundays).

The change is because the auction centre will be closed that weekend for completion of electrical work now that the new extension there is nearing completion. The public cannot be admitted anywhere on the site for health and safety reasons.

The change does not affect the charity preview evening to be held on Friday, September 26.

I have no means of advising everyone who may have noted what is now the wrong starting date and I seek your help in my attempts to reach as many as possible. As I have pointed out in your columns before, the Darlington and Stockton Times reaches the parts other newspapers do not reach.

DAVID SEVERS
