Sir – I am obliged to you for publishing my letter last week on the World Welly Wanging Championships to be held at the Duke of Wellington, Welbury.
Unfortunately I gave the wrong date, for which I profoundly apologise.
I doubly apologise to any athletes consequently training to peak at the wrong time. The correct date is now most immediate, being tomorrow.
The contest is open to all and entry is free, though it will help to notify me in advance on 01609-882501. It starts at 3pm and the head-to-head with Wellington, Somerset, starts at 4.30pm.
