A NORTH-EAST author led college students on a creative journey during a series of workshops recently.

Tracey Iceton said she enjoyed sharing her expertise when she hosted three days of creative writing sessions at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College.

A-level English Language students benefited from her knowledge during three-days of creative writing workshops that saw them develop story-telling techniques that will help them during their coursework.

The Stockton-based author said: “It was great to be able to share some of my expertise with the students.

“They worked hard through some intensive activities and impressed me with their ideas which I am sure will go on to become wonderful pieces of coursework.”

First year student Tilly Houston took part in the workshops and said: “Tracey’s sessions were extremely beneficial and provided us with the opportunity to think about how to create characters, obtain the reader’s attention with effective opening lines and employ language in a concise way.”
