WOOD engraving by the early 20th century draughtsman Eric Gill will be on show at the Old Courthouse, in Thirsk, from February 13 to 15.
Gill (1882-1940) was one of the most colourful figures of his time, despite most of his prints being in black and white.
As sculptor, printmaker, typographer and writer, his subject matter swung between the deeply religious and the highly erotic, a direct echo of his eccentric life.
“It is the unequalled clarity of line of his engravings that has made Gill’s work so sought after,” said exhibition organiser, Marc Goldmark.
The new touring exhibition includes 100 original wood engravings, printed between 1929 and 1934. Viewing is from 11am-6pm and the prints are for sale.
