A LARGE boardroom table is being offered free of charge by a community group which has found it far too large for its own purposes.

Thirsk Regeneration Initiative bought the table, which seats 14 people, for use at its meetings with Yorkshire Forward.

The group used to meet in a room above the town’s tourist information centre but is now no longer able to use it.

Members now meet at various locations, including Thirsk Auction Mart and Rural Arts, Westgate.

The table is still in the room and Peter Walker, chairman of the initiative, is keen to give it to a new home.

He said: “The table is that large you need binoculars to see people at the other end. It almost fills the room completely.

I’d give it free to a charitable scheme or local school to use.

“If no-one comes forward, then we could swap it with a group for computers or I could put it on eBay to see what happens.”

Anyone interested in the table can contact Mr Walker at SuperSkills on 0845-130-9098.
