THREE artists have teamed up to launch an exhibition that takes its inspiration from the landscape and history of the Yorkshire Dales.

Connections at the Dales Countryside Museum, in Hawes, comprises collages, paintings and sculpture by Laurence Cutting, Ned Hoskins and Dave Ward.

Museum manager Fiona Rosher said: “The three artists are diverse in the mediums that they use, but are connected by common themes. They take inspiration from the locality, from the countryside, the history of the area and the memories of the people within it.

“The works featured here demonstrate the variety of interpretations that are possible.

Through the mediums they use, they have created thought-provoking imagery and objects.”

The exhibition can be viewed until the end of October, except for the weekend of October 8-10. The museum is open daily from 10am-5pm.

The artists will run free workshops as part of the Big Draw, a programme organised by the national charity Campaign for Drawing. These are on October 12, concentrating on drawing and sculpture; October 23, looking at ideas and sketches; and October 30, all from 10am-4pm.
