THE Black Sheep Brewery has launched a new cask blonde beer, Golden Sheep, following the success of a limited edition last year.

Developed by head brewer Alan Dunn, the new beer meets the growing demand for lighter blonde ales.

Golden Sheep is described as light golden in colour, with fresh citrus fruit flavours and a clean, crisp finish.

Rob Theakston, joint managing director, said: “The recipe has been refined and we hope it will contribute to the continued growth in sales of cask ales, which we are experiencing all over the country.”

The new beer was launched at the brewery in Masham.

Guests received a point of sale starter pack with drip mats, runners, glassware, posters and tasting notes.

They also had the chance to win a “golden ticket” for a free firkin of Golden Sheep.

The winners were Mick and Nicola Triffit, of Alberts, in Harrogate, Michael and Kay Riley, of the George and Dragon, in Easingwold, and Malcolm and Caroline Whittaker, of The Crown, in Middlesmoor.
