The birds and animals on the 16th Century Jervaulx Screen at St Andrew’s, Aysgarth, will be under scrutiny when the church holds its open day on Saturday (November 30) as part of its Patronal Festival.
For the children there will be fun activities which will include searching for birds and animals during a treasure hunt.
They might also like to join their parents for a visit to the tower to see bell ringers at work.
There will be displays of Advent flowers, arts and crafts (including spinning), plus the chance to search the church’s registers and records with the help of local historians.
The church will be open from 10am to 4pm and refreshments will be available. Admission is free.
