It has been a busy day for members of Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team, who rescued two walkers - one in wild weather in the early hours, and another after a fall at a popular beauty spot.
The team was called by police at 4.30am today, Monday, October 28, to help a lone Pennine Way walker, who, along with their dog, had run out of daylight on Sunday evening and correctly pitched a tent for the night on Great Shunner Fell.
Then the rain and gales came through and destroyed the tent. A spokesperson for the mountain rescuers said: "In the valley it's windless, but a very different picture at 2000ft."
The fell is the third-highest mountain in the Yorkshire Dales, and lies between Wensleydale and Swaledale.
The walker was found by the team, warmed up and walked off the fell to safety.
Later, police asked if the team could rescue a walker who had ended up down a very steep and wet gully while walking at Hackfall Woods, near Masham.
"The team joyfully put on wet boots and waterproofs following this morning's job," said a spokesperson. "Our rope rescue trained operators safely recovered the casualty."
