An investigation is underway after a 4x4 crashed into another vehicle and then drove away.
Police, who are appealing for information or dashcam footage, said an officer was flagged down in Saltburn on Saturday by a woman reporting she had been driving along Windsor Road when a black 4x4 vehicle came up behind hers and went to overtake her.
The 4x4 collided with the back of her vehicle, causing cosmetic damage, then drove off towards Redcar. It is unknown if the 4x4 driver turned off at the large roundabout or carried on towards Redcar.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Although the woman was unable to give the precise location of the incident, we believe it happened somewhere between the town’s train station, the police station and the Spar shop.
"If anyone was in the Windsor Road area between 8.30pm and 8.41pm and saw or captured the incident on their dashcam they’re asked to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 200827.
"If you have information but don’t want to speak to police, you can pass it to independent charity Crimestoppers at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111."
