Police stumbled across a huge cannabis grow after catching a whiff of the plants while on another job.
Officers were responding to a job on Wicklow Street in the Newport area of Middlesbrough on Saturday (September 28) when they caught the strong smell of cannabis.
They followed their noses and found a room of young plants, before discovering a larger farm next door.
Harvested cannabis which had been prepared for sale was also found and the haul seized.
Cleveland Police said the plants could have been worth up to £100,0000.
A spokesperson for the Teesside force said: “The electricity supply in both properties had to be made safe as it had been tampered with.
