Glorious sunshine saw a large turnout for Kirkby Fleetham’s 122nd Feast.

The traditional village show run by Kirkby Fleetham Floral and Horticultural Society is held on the second Saturday of August each year on the Village Green.

This year saw villagers and those who travelled from further afield having a fun filled day in the sunshine.

Equistry entertained the crowds with a Roman-themed show on horseback, while visitors were treated to popular tunes from Scruton Jazz & Blues Band. In the village hall, volunteers put on a delicious display of homemade cakes – at time there were queues out of the door.

As usual the standard of entries in the show tent was high. Many reflected the Olympics, from floral arrangements and cocktails to children’s Olympic poems and even a French snail.

The dog show was as popular as ever with categories such as fastest recall and the dog the judge most wants to take home, but Teddy stole the limelight winning best dog in show.
