There is just over a week to go to enjoy a range of Magic Tenner offers in Richmond, in a campaign to boost trade for independent businesses.

Run by Totally Locally, the campaign takes place until May 26, with organisers citing research which shows £10 spent in an independent business can mean up to £50 going back into the local economy.

Paul Harrison, chair of the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association, said: “The money goes round and round Richmond’s economy. This strengthens our town and helps small businesses to thrive, making Richmond a better place to live, work and visit.

"Alongside the £10 offers businesses are displaying posters showing how many local businesses supply and work with them. The significance of the campaign is shown by the number of businesses who have come together to participate.”

Totally Locally founder, Chris Sands, added: “The Magic Tenner event is a good way for shops to support their communities by offering great deals, and for the community to support those shops that make our towns better places. It really is a win-win situation.”
