An inquest has been opened into the death of a 25-year-old man who died in a car crash.
Joseph Potts, from Middlesbrough, died on the A66, after colliding with roadside furniture on April 7.
His white BMW 1 Series crashed into the Great Burdon Roundabout heading towards Darlington.
The stretch of road between the B629 at Darlington and the A135 at Stockton-on-Tees was closed for several hours.
Pathologist Dr Paul Barrett recorded the cause of death as multiple traumatic injuries.
The inquest has been adjourned pending further investigations.
