A village pub will reopen this weekend after new managers stepped in to give it a makeover.
The Gold Cup Inn at Nether Silton, near Thirsk, closed last year but has now had a revamp and will reopen tomorrow, Saturday, March 30.
It now has a pool table, darts board, and improved seating.
Robyn Wrigley, who has taken on the challenge of running the Gold Cup Inn, has expressed her delight at being able to take on her own pub.
Having worked in pubs for several years, including the famous Black Swan at Oldstead, this is the first pub the 25-year-old has managed solo.
She said: “I always wanted to take on my own pub and seeing that the Gold Cup had been closed for a year we couldn’t miss the opportunity. To start with we will only be serving drinks but looking to progress onto food once we have gotten the pub up and going again.
“This is the perfect country pub in my eyes and we are super excited to see what we can do with it.
“At the age of 25, I think it is a really exciting opportunity.”
