A North East high street will close for two days overnight for resurfacing works.

Stockton Borough Council (SBC) has confirmed part of Yarm high street will be closed overnight on Monday (March 25) and Tuesday (March 26).

The section of road between Bentley Wynd and the Spital will be closed while work is carried out.

It will be shut from 9.30pm to 5am to allow work to be carried out safely.

A SBC spokesperson said: “Overnight road closure: Part of Yarm High Street will be closed on the nights of Monday (March 25) and Tuesday (March 26) to allow for road resurfacing.

“The section of road between Bentley Wynd and the Spital will be closed from 9.30pm to 5am to allow work to be carried out safely.

“Traffic management will be in place throughout the temporary closure and diversion signs will be in place.

“These resurfacing works are part of the council’s planned highway maintenance programme.”
