St Nicholas Church, Guisborough, was filled to capacity when children from each of the five primary schools in the town sent a choir to sing at a Christmas event in the church.
Directed by Chris Nixon, the church’s musical director, the children performed two songs each earlier this month, whilst, in between, the combined choirs sang Christmas carols and songs, and encouraged the congregation of proud parents and relatives to join in on the chorus lines.
First up was Belmont primary school, who sang Bell Rock, followed by Galley Hill school, who sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.
Next, St Paulinus RC School choir sang Noel. Highcliffe school choir, who had sung so well with the Guisborough Choral Society the previous Saturday evening, sang the Spanish carol, Felize Navidad. The final presentation came from Chaloner School choir, who set the church alight with Rocking around the Christmas Tree.
Refreshments were available and a raffle was held with the proceeds going towards the fund to save the church tower.
