A special charity fundraiser concert paying tribute to the life of a 23-year-old woman who unexpectedly died while at university earlier this year will take place in Darlington this weekend.

The life of Issy Ineson from Northallerton will be celebrated at the Forum Music Centre this weekend (December 17) in a charity concert raising funds for homeless charity St George’s Crypt in Leeds.

Issy, who was a student at the University of Leeds studying Fine Art, died in March whilst she was living in halls of residence, and volunteered for the charity in her spare time.

The special event involving nearly 50 singers has been organised by Issy’s former vocal coach Viveca Bradshaw, owner of Abbey Vocal Studios whose pupils have performed a yearly charity concert at the Forum for the last 14 years.

Viveca said: “We want to celebrate Issy – some of our older pupils who knew her are coming back specifically to sing for her.

“When we got the news, it was horrendous, we’ve known her since she was 8. She was a part of our family.”

Those involved are set to sing a group performance of Heal The World as well as songs from smash hit musical Six – a fitting tribute for Issy who once took up the role of Anne Boleyn for the studio.

A large cohort of Issy's family and friends are also expected to attend the event.

Since 2009, the concerts have raised a grand total of over £80,000 for charities including St Teresa’s Hospice, Newcastle’s RVI and the Teenage Cancer Trusts as well as other projects.

Viveca added: “It is quite emotional still – I cannot believe she is gone. Something like this at such a young age is awful.

“But, I feel proud that I am doing it for her. Although it’s hard and takes a long time to put together I have enjoyed doing it.”
