A North East hospice will be opening a holiday-themed shop this year to raise money for families receiving their care.

Teesside Hospice's Christmas tree shop will be located at Smith and Friends (Robinsons Tees Valley) in Ingleby Barwick.

It will be open to the public and Saturday December 2 and Sunday December 3.

Darlington and Stockton Times:

It will offer premium-grade Nordmann Fir trees and will be open with festivities taking place with gift shopping and authentically roasted, heart-warming coffee available.

A Teesside Hospice spokesperson said: "Love giving back to your local hospice, and start Christmas with us!

"Picking your Christmas tree is where the magic of Christmas begins. You can bring along the family and make it a Christmas to remember, wishing it really was Christmas every day.

"Our premium-grade Nordmann Fir Fresh Cut Christmas trees are grown within the North-East and are great for the environment.

"They are easy to set up, maintain and decorate. A true festive focal point wherever you place it. A jolly-good addition to the workplace or snug at the heart of a family Christmas.

"It's a great way to show your support to local families affected by a terminal illness this festive period."

They warned those planning to get a tree that pre-orders must be made by November 14 due to demand for the Christmas firs.

They said customers would need to do this to guarantee they get one, and said they looked forward to welcoming families.

"This really could be the best Christmas gift you give, as you'll be helping families over Christmas who are dealing with a terminal illness, making sure no one dies alone, scared, or in pain," they added.

4ft, 5ft, 6ft, 7ft and 8ft Christmas trees, wreaths and tree stands can all be collected from the Hospice's dedicated Christmas tree shop
