Police are investigating after windows were smashed at a popular gym this week.
Five out of six windows, and a door window, were broken at TNT in Guisborough overnight on Tuesday. All have now been boarded up, with large signs erected to indicate the premises are still open for business.
Ed Turner, a co-owner of the gym, which faces onto Fountain Street, opposite the council car park, said that the property was intact at 9pm on Tuesday evening but the damage was discovered at 6am the next day.
Neil Rimington, the other co-owner, said that they found no rocks, stones, or other implements in or near the gym, which could have caused the damaged.. The incident has been reported to police, who are investigating.
Mr Rimington said that the street was covered in part by CCTV and it was hoped that officers would be able to identify the offender.
Mr Turner added: “We’re greatly disappointed. It’s going to be difficult to sort it out and it’s pointless.
"We’ve had a really positive reaction from our customers, not just the people who come here, but the local businesses have been really good helping us out, bringing drinks and food over and looking out for each other, which is good for the community.
"Hopefully, our customer base will be strong enough, not to be deterred by it."
