The Summer Sounds Music Festival returned to Guisborough at the weekend with live entertainment from the UK's best tribute bands and artists.
It was the tenth anniversary of the festival, held at the Guisborough Rugby Club field, with more entertainment, a bigger production, and a day for children.
The event was attended by hundreds of music-lovers and the weather obliged, with the rain keeping away. The first day of the festival on Friday had a huge 1980s retro party, hosted by DJ Murray Mint of Britain's Got Talent fame.
Dancing continued throughout the evening to tribute acts to the music and songs of Tina Turner, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Duran Duran, ending with a spectacular fireworks display. Many of the festival-goers dressed in their finest retro gear in T-shirts, luminous paint, and wigs.
On Saturday it was more of a rock and pop music event, again hosted by Murray Mint, during the afternoon and evening with tribute bands and singers, again ending with a fireworks display at 11pm.
On Sunday there was a Summer Sounds Kidz Tribute Concert for the children with Murray Mint introducing bands and performers to the music of Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Pink, Ed Sheeran and Little Mix.
Many attending brought food and drink with vivid costumes and there were cocktail bars and stalls offering street food, sweets, hair braiding and party costumes and bucket hats. For those with a strong stomach, there was a Twister fairground ride on offer.
The festival originated ten years ago at Redcar Racecourse, but moved to the Gisborough Priory grounds in 2018 and to the rugby club last year.
