Police have launched an investigation after a County Durham pub had its windows smashed late on Friday evening (July 21).

The Havelock Arms on Station Road, Middleton St George, had its windows smashed at around 10pm on Friday, July 21.

Customers were still at the venue at the time of the incident, but nobody is believed to have been harmed.

A day later, on July 22, the pub confirmed in a Facebook post it was still “open for business as usual” despite what had happened.

Police have now launched an investigation into the incident, including reviewing CCTV footage and carrying out a forensic examination of the scene.
