A man who was fighting for his life after a car crash in Teesside at the end of last month has died, police have confirmed.
Jayme McCluskey, 35, from Guisborough has died two weeks after he was involved in a collision on Middlesbrough Road on June 30.
Mr McCluskey was rushed to James Cook University Hospital following the collision in critical condition but died on Friday (July 14).
In a statement released by police, Jayme’s family have paid tribute to him, calling him a “friend to many” who will be dearly missed.
His family added: “Jayme was a much-loved son, father, brother and friend to many and will be greatly missed.”
They also expressed their thanks to the staff at James Cook University Hospital who cared for Jayme.
The single-vehicle collision had already claimed the life of “much loved” dad Kellam Hodgson who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kellam’s grieving family paid tribute to him, by saying: “Kellam was a much-loved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.”
That weekend, tributes and bunches of flowers were left on Middlesbrough Road, Guisborough, laid in memory of Mr Hodgson.
On June 30, the road was closed off in both directions by police, with the ambulance service requesting air ambulance support and sending two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, a duty officer, and the medical to the scene.
Investigations from police remain ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses and for anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch.
