Once again The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw event proved to be a great success.
Members of Leyburn and Catterick Garrison’s Slimming World groups donated more than £1,850 worth of clothes they had slimmed out of to support Cancer Research UK.
This annual event not only raises funds for a worthy cause but also serves as a celebration of the achievements of its members.
Since it started in 2013, the Slimming World Clothes Throw campaign has seen members across the UK contribute more than £18m worth of pre-loved items to Cancer Research UK shops.
Members from both Leyburn and Catterick Garrison proudly had slimmed out of many items, and in several cases were left needing a complete new wardrobe. Together the two groups collected more than 70 bags, with each bag about £25-worth.
To join a group, heado to Leyburn Arts & Community Centre on Wednesdays at 9.30am, 5.30pm or 7pm (contact Helen on 07969 559998), or The Bridge, Catterick, on Saturdays at 8am and 9.30am (contact Annette on 07879 559336).
