Specialist property consultancy George F. White has opened the doors to a new office in the centre of Durham – its third new office launch in the last six months, following new locations in Hexham and Leeds.

The new Durham office is based at New Elvet, putting the team in the heart of the city centre to expand its reach and capitalise on new opportunities.

This is George F White’s second office in Durham. Since the opening of its Pity Me office in 2020, increased demand has reached record levels, particularly across the residential sector in the city and surrounding towns, securing the need for a second, more centralised location.

The new Durham office will be led by Senior Associate/Valuer, Lindsay French and supported by Valuer, Ashley Barnes, who have been with the company for over 15 years between them.

Lindsay joined George F. White in 2013, having worked within a sales and lettings background for independent and corporate agents since 2007. She has extensive experience within both urban and rural economies, in addition to estate agency.

Ashley, who was born and raised in Durham, joined George F. White as an apprentice in 2016 working alongside Lindsay, supporting clients through the sales process. Ashley has been working within auctions, training as a valuer and successfully running her own branch.

Lindsay said: “Durham has been my patch for my whole career so to now be stepping up to lead our new office is a great feeling and an exciting time for the business. Since establishing George F. White in the county we’ve grown a brilliant client base with a lot of variety and demand has continued to increase, it puts us in a strong position to expand our offering and reach with this new city centre location.”

Sally Hart, Managing Director of George F. White, said: “We’re in an exciting period of growth and I’m delighted to see this new location open as we have an increasing client base in Durham. The new office puts us in the best position to take advantage of new opportunities, alongside our expansion within the residential property sector.”

Lindsay and Ashley are further supported by the wider County Durham team, which has over 73 years combined experience within the property industry.

Sally added: “Our growth, particularly over the past five years, is down to our incredible team and their passion to succeed. As client demand continues to grow, so do our expansion plans, which include finding new talented people to join our team. I’m really proud of this sustained growth and the opportunities we are creating for people to join and progress their careers in the sector.”
