New pictures from Redcar beach have revealed that filming has started on a brand new BBC series – but who is the famous lead actor and what has he been in?

A few days ago a grounded boat was spotted on Redcar beach with many left confused as to how it got there.

Crews have now descended on the popular beach to start filming for the new BBC drama, ‘Boat Story.’

Further details of the new drama are limited, however, casting callouts had previously been made for extras to play armed police officers and dog walkers for the filming dates next week.

Now new pictures from the beach show British actor Paterson Joseph filming scenes from the new show with a small dog.

Paterson Joseph is a British-born actor from London known for his roles in a number of TV-dramas and movies.

Viewers will know him from a number of appearances in popular BBC dramas such as Silent Witness in 2002, Casualty in 1996, Waking the Dead in 2002 and A Touch of Frost in 2003.

However, he is also known for a number of TV movies including Now You See Her 2001, Safe As House 2000, Loving You 2003, and Elmina’s Kitchen 2005.

Meanwhile, he’s also starred a number of blockbuster films such as The Beach 2000, Greenfingers 2001 and The Other Man 2008.

He has also appeared in a number of play productions such as King Lear and Love’s Labour’s Lost.
