A County Durham family is taking the North East by storm after putting on quite the display for Halloween.

For the last two years, the Stonebanks in Hunwick near Bishop Auckland, have been wowing hundreds of visitors with their spooktacular displays.

Transforming their home with visual effects and familiar soundtracks, they have got quite a name for themselves as the entertainers.

And this year, it has been no different as they have again turned their home into a spectacle dressed to impress.

The home has become a talking point on social media, with people stopping by to film the displays over the weekend.

This year, the home features a range of themes include Netflix's Strange Things, Squid Game, and the classic, Ghostbusters.

Brad Stonebanks, who got the idea from his daughter Megan, said: "Megan started watching these videos on YouTube of all these Americans doing the lights and she said 'dad can we try and do something like this.'

"We bought a few bits, had a go, couldn't get it working so we put it away in the cupboard, forgot about it.

"Then we tried it again, managed to get it to work and then on a show last year, not as big as this one, but we had a successful show."

Raising cash for charity while pleasing passers-by at the same time, the family are donating all proceeds to Bringing Back A Smile, a charity set up to help adults and kids with life-threatening illnesses.

Brad said: "Last year we made £300 for a local charity, now we're going bigger and better this year.

"We try to support a different charity each year, to see if we can make a bit of money to help out the community."
