The 167th Sedgefield and District Agricultural Show takes place on Saturday, and has already attracted a large amount of interest and support.

Gates open for the show, in the Robert Brown Show Field, at West Park, Sedgefield, at 10am, and car parking is free.

Organisers are anticipating a record number of entries and attendees as the show has not be held since 2019 due to Covid. Committee members have developed a new website and Instagram page to both promote the show further afield, and highlight the best of local rural life.

Tickets are available on the gate with entry costing £8 for adults, and £6 for children over five and concessions. Family tickets are £20 for two adults and up to three children. The exhibition marquees open at 12noon and attendees will be able to enjoy watching a variety of activities including a full range of competitions and displays comprising of agricultural classes for horses, ponies, vintage tractors, horticulture and a “Crufts Qualifier” dog show.

The cattle and sheep classes once again make a return this year, along with the heavy horses.

There will also be several marquees with craft stalls, horticultural displays, home produce and handicrafts. The popular food hall makes a return this year where there will be a vast range of local and regional delicacies on offer.

In the horticulture marquee visitors can view the prize vegetables, home and farm produce that will be on display, along with outstanding floral arrangements. In the craft tent, there will be a vast array of baked goods and crafts exhibits showcasing lots of local talent. A wide range of stalls offering designer individual products will also be present in the shopping marquee.
