Drugs, cash and weapons were seized by police in several home raids as part of a North East crackdown on crime.

Cleveland Police issued warrants on Tuesday as part of Operation Resolve, and visited addresses on Camden Street, Castleton Road and Romford Road in Stockton and Gadebridge Close in Ingleby Barwick.

At Camden Street, a quantity of suspected heroin was seized and two men aged 20 and 23 and a 32-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

They remain in police custody. Several weapons were also seized.

Suspected heroin was also seized from an address on Castleton Road and a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. The male remains in police custody.

A quantity of suspected heroin and diazepam were seized at an address on Romford Road, Stockton, and a weapon seized. A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and possession with intent to supply class C drugs.

The woman has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

At Gadebridge Close, a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of improper importation of goods (controlled drug of Class B). A linked address in Middlesbrough was also searched and a large quantity of suspected cannabis seized. The man remains in police custody.

Neighbourhood officers were accompanied by officers from and Cleveland Police Dog Section, alongside police dogs Judge and Benji.

Speaking after the raids, acting Inspector Ian Brown, from Stockton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Operation Resolve is a targeted and proactive operation with the aim of showing our commitment to tackling crime to those who suffer from it the most.

“We are committed to tackling drugs in the area and our action today hopefully brings local residents some relief from the misery caused.

On Monday, officers also discovered a cannabis farm of around 100 plants at an address on Witton Park, Stockton. The plants are believed to be worth between £20,000 and £40,000.
