Magnet, the British kitchen retailer, is opening a new store in the North East as part of a “significant investment” – and you can look inside it below.

The retailer is looking to strengthen its commercial estate with the design and roll-out of a new store format starting at Portrack Lane in Stockton.

Part of a programme of new store formats and refreshments, with more investment planned for 2023, Stockton is one of the first three stores to open with the new format.

Stores in South Wimbledon and Sale in Manchester will also sport the new look.

The Stockton store, however, is the first to feature a fully working kitchen area, which will allow in-store teams to demonstrate how each appliance would work.

Other new stores will also receive a fully working kitchen in time.

A “Design Studio” will also be part of the store, which is a self-contained area where customers can enjoy the design process.

Along with this, a “Style and Materials” area will allow a more interactive experience, complete with its own mood-boarding area and light box, which lets you see your kitchen area at different times of the day.

Children also won’t be left out in the new store with the inclusion of a “The Hideout” which is designed to keep them entertained.

It comes complete with fluffy bean bags, TV and even a miniature Magnet Kitchen so they can feel involved in the process.

Dan Carr, chief executive at Nobia Holdings UK said he was “proud to launch with the new format.”

He added: “We look forward to rolling this out to our existing and new stores in the future.”
